This subwoofer will work well in both sealed and ported enclosures. The following are recommendations based on 700 watts of RMS power. Great for tight places such as under the seat or a custom console install.
1.0 Cubic Feet NET sealed (recommended)
This size will give you a resonant frequency of 48Hz to 52Hz. Optimum for both SQ and overall output. Very smooth with a 3dB down point of 38Hz. In this enclosure full excursion will be reached at 400 watts RMS.
1.75 Cubic Foot NET ported, Port = 4″ round port x 15″ long, Tuning @ 32 Hz
This size will give you a resonant frequency of 55Hz with a 5dB increase over sealed. Sub-bass extension is sacrificed in favor of a very hard-pounding bass. Great for SPL if yowWäntthem to hear you coming.
2.25 Cubic Foot NET ported (recommended), 20 square inch port x 16″ long, Tuning @ 34 Hz
This size will give you a resonant frequency of 45Hz with a 5dB increase over sealed. Sub-bass extension and an excellent upper-bass is expected. This enclosure will give you the best mix of output and sub-bass extension.
