Shipping and Returns
We offer nationwide shipping to virtually any address. Please note that some products may have restrictions or may not be eligible for international shipping.
Upon placing an order, we will provide estimated shipping and delivery dates based on the availability of the items and the shipping options you choose. The shipping date estimates will depend on the shipping provider you select, and they may appear on the shipping quotes page.
If you believe your address is in an "unsafe or bad area" where packages may be at risk of theft, we recommend having them shipped to a safer address, such as your workplace. Once we have shipped the package and it has been scanned as delivered to your address, it becomes a part of your home or homeowners insurance coverage. Therefore, please be diligent in ensuring your packages reach you safely. We are also open to offering signature for delivery if requested. If you would like your packages to require a signature upon delivery, please include this request in your order notes when placing your order.
Please note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of each item can be found on its detail page. To align with the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.
We offer a 7-day return policy for all items purchased from SMS Car Audio. To be eligible for a return, the item must be in new, unaltered, and unused condition. Items must be returned within 7 calendar days of the delivery date (no returns are allowed after this period).
The following items are non-returnable:
- All clearance or closeout section sale items labeled as such in the title are final and not eligible for exchange or refunds.
- Lithium battery sales are final due to federal shipping and storage regulations. They cannot be returned unless damaged during shipping, in which case, the issue will be handled directly with the manufacturer.
- Custom built items, including Alternators, Custom Acrylic products, Fabricated Custom Products, and wire that is less than full spool lengths, are non-refundable.
- Digital media items, such as electronic files, are non-refundable.
- Items that have been opened, mounted, or used cannot be returned.
- If an item is received damaged or if it has been incorrectly shipped by us, please contact our Customer Support immediately. Defective items shipped by us or items you did not order but received from us are eligible for store credit or a cash refund. Refunds will be issued after the item(s) have been inspected upon our receipt of the returned item. Please note that there is a 15% restocking fee for returned items that are not being exchanged and are not damaged.
Refunds will be processed within four weeks after we receive your returned package. This period includes the transit time for us to receive the return (5 to 10 business days), the time to process the return once received (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process the refund request (5 to 10 business days).
