Terms of Service
These terms apply to purchases, estimates, invoices, appointments, installation planning, product orders, custom work, acrylic work, subwoofer enclosures, speaker pods, 3D printing, fabrication, DSP tuning, diagnostics, troubleshooting, and support through SMS Car Audio. By shopping, booking, approving work, paying, authorizing service, or using this website, you agree to these terms.

Important Customer Notices
- Payment is due when work is complete. Vehicles, products, and completed work may not be released until balances are paid unless SMS agrees otherwise in writing.
- If SMS is installing it, contact SMS before checkout. The correct build may need adapters, wiring, DSP channels, electrical support, custom enclosure planning, lighting control, or a different product path.
- Parts ordered for a customer cannot be freely switched, changed, cancelled, or swapped. Once SMS orders parts, materials, or special-order items, any change requires SMS approval and may require additional cost.
- Custom projects require full payment unless SMS states otherwise in writing. Custom-made work is customer-specific and is not returnable or refundable.
- No SMS warranty applies to outside products. Products not purchased from SMS, including Amazon, eBay, marketplace, used, customer-supplied, or third-party parts, are not covered by SMS product warranty or SMS support warranty.
- Troubleshooting time is billable. Diagnosis, removal, reinstall, repair attempts, rework, or testing related to outside products, failed products, incorrect parts, dead products, or customer-supplied equipment will be billed at current SMS labor rates.
- Contact SMS first before outside repair. If you believe an issue is related to SMS work, contact SMS first and allow a reasonable opportunity to inspect before paying another shop, dealership, or third party.
Outside Products and Customer-Supplied Equipment
SMS does not warranty products that did not come from SMS. This includes Amazon parts, eBay parts, marketplace parts, used parts, customer-supplied parts, parts bought from another dealer, parts supplied by another shop, and parts supplied by the customer.
- SMS may choose whether to install customer-supplied equipment and may decline any outside equipment for safety, quality, compatibility, missing parts, counterfeit concerns, or previous damage.
- SMS makes no warranty or guarantee on the condition, authenticity, compatibility, legality, performance, reliability, lifespan, or manufacturer warranty status of any outside product.
- If an outside product is defective, dead, intermittent, incorrect, incompatible, missing parts, damaged, previously used, counterfeit, unsupported, or fails after installation, the customer remains responsible for all labor, diagnosis, removal, reinstall, and troubleshooting charges.
- Manufacturer warranty labor is not automatically included. If a product did not come from SMS and is not approved SMS warranty work, the customer is responsible for labor to remove, reinstall, diagnose, ship, test, or replace it.
Troubleshooting, Diagnosis, Removal, and Reinstall Labor
Troubleshooting is labor, not free support. SMS time spent inspecting, testing, diagnosing, removing, reinstalling, programming, correcting, or proving a failure will be billed unless SMS specifically agrees otherwise in writing.
- Troubleshooting charges may apply whether or not the root cause is found and whether or not the product is repairable.
- Labor charges apply to diagnose or remove dead, defective, intermittent, incorrect, incompatible, customer-supplied, Amazon, marketplace, used, or non-SMS products.
- Labor charges apply to reinstall replacement products unless the work is specifically covered by an SMS-approved warranty labor claim.
Custom Work and Fabrication
Custom work is built for a specific customer, vehicle, product layout, design, measurement, finish, or one-off use. Custom work is full-payment work, non-refundable, non-returnable, and has no custom/fabrication warranty unless SMS specifically agrees otherwise in writing.
- Custom work includes custom subwoofer enclosures, built-to-order boxes, speaker pods, acrylic work, lighting pieces, 3D printing, CNC work, laser work, fiberglassing, brackets, adapters, amp racks, panels, templates, and one-off fabrication.
- After parts, materials, or project-specific items are ordered, there is no free switching, cancellation, redesign, color change, material change, equipment change, size change, layout change, or direction change.
- Any customer-requested change after approval is a change order and may require new parts, new materials, additional labor, added design time, and additional payment.
Authorization, Scope, and Payment
- By approving an estimate, invoice, work order, text message, email, electronic approval, deposit, payment, or appointment, the customer authorizes SMS Car Audio to perform the approved work.
- SMS is responsible only for the work included in the approved estimate, invoice, work order, text, email, or written scope.
- Additional products, repairs, wiring, brackets, adapters, fabrication, diagnosis, relocation, programming, or troubleshooting may require additional charges.
- Unpaid balances may delay pickup, scheduling, release of the vehicle, or completion of the project.
Vehicle Condition and Pre-Existing Issues
- Prior aftermarket wiring, damaged wiring, corrosion, water intrusion, weak batteries, failing alternators, brittle trim, missing clips, broken panels, warning lights, software issues, and factory module problems can affect installation.
- SMS is not responsible for diagnosing or correcting unrelated pre-existing issues unless specifically retained to do so.
- Panel removal carries inherent risk because heat, age, UV exposure, previous repairs, brittle plastics, and broken clips can make trim parts fragile before SMS touches the vehicle.
Installation, DSP Tuning, and Service Work
- Installation labor, DSP tuning, programming, diagnosis, troubleshooting, wiring repair, removal, reinstall labor, and appointment time are service work.
- Labor is generally non-refundable once work has started or been completed.
- DSP tuning results depend on equipment, speaker locations, wiring, vehicle acoustics, signal quality, customer goals, and prior installation quality.
- SMS does not guarantee that a system will meet subjective expectations unless specific measurable results are agreed in writing.
Website and Product Information
- Product descriptions, pricing, photos, availability, compatibility notes, specifications, and promotions may change without notice.
- SMS makes a good-faith effort to keep product information accurate, but manufacturer data, supplier feeds, images, and specifications can change.
- Images may be representative and may not show every accessory, harness, option, or included item.
- SMS may cancel or correct orders with errors, unavailable products, pricing mistakes, fraudulent activity, or incorrect information.
Third-Party Services and Financing
Financing providers, payment processors, shipping carriers, manufacturers, distributors, and other third-party services may have their own terms, approvals, timelines, fees, warranty rules, and account requirements. SMS does not control third-party approval decisions, carrier delays, manufacturer warranty decisions, or financing-provider terms.
Photos, Video, and Documentation
SMS may photograph or video vehicles, products, wiring, installation areas, pre-existing conditions, progress, and completed work for documentation, quality control, warranty support, training, dispute resolution, and marketing. SMS will make reasonable efforts not to display personal contact information publicly.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, SMS is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages related to products, installation, tuning, equipment failure, software issues, vehicle downtime, lost data, lost revenue, missed events, or third-party service problems. Any liability related to a specific purchase or service is limited to the amount paid to SMS for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim, unless otherwise required by law.
Governing Law
Unless otherwise required by law, these terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana.
