ARC Audio SW Series Shallow Subwoofers
Built for tight installs without sounding small
The ARC Audio SW Series was designed for vehicles where traditional subwoofer depth and enclosure space are limited. Modern truck interiors, seat-back locations, under-seat spaces, and stealth audio builds often do not have the room for a conventional subwoofer system. The SW Series was engineered around those real-world limits instead of simply adapting a full-depth woofer into a shallow frame.
Available in 10-inch and 12-inch models, the SW Series is built for compact sealed enclosures, shallow mounting locations, and front-loaded applications where spacing and loading distance can strongly affect bass output, consistency, and tonal balance.
Compact shallow subwoofer options for space-limited installs.
Flexible impedance choices for proper amplifier matching.
N42UH motor structure designed around shallow front-loaded performance.
Designed for accurate, controlled low-frequency output, not one-note boom.
Front-mounted motor advantage
At the center of the SW Series is a front-mounted N42UH neodymium motor structure paired with a precision CNC-machined vented iron motor cap. This layout helps control the relationship between the subwoofer and the surface directly in front of it, whether that is the floor of a truck in a down-firing enclosure, the rear surface of a seat-back loaded system, or another tight front-loading environment.
Positioning the motor structure outside the enclosure also gives the SW Series a thermal advantage. Heat from the motor and voice coil is exposed to open air instead of being trapped inside a compact box, helping improve cooling efficiency and reduce thermal compression during extended listening sessions.
Cone, suspension, and real bass control
The SW Series uses a raised-cup cone profile constructed from reinforced lightweight cellulose fiber material treated with a composite hydrophobic coating. The cone works with a low-shore butyl rubber surround and treated Nomex/cotton spider assembly to support controlled excursion while maintaining the linearity needed for accurate musical bass.
The result is a shallow subwoofer platform designed to reproduce low frequencies with detail, extension, and proper weight. Instead of relying on exaggerated upper bass to mask shallow design limitations, the SW Series is built to keep kick drums, bass guitar, synth bass, and cinematic low-frequency effects natural and controlled.

SMS Car Audio installation notes
For shallow subwoofer systems, the enclosure and loading distance matter just as much as the woofer itself. The SW Series is a strong fit for custom under-seat truck enclosures, behind-seat applications, stealth OEM-style upgrades, and compact sound-quality builds where accurate bass is the goal.
SMS Car Audio can help match the correct SW10 or SW12 model, impedance, amplifier power, enclosure volume, and vehicle-specific installation layout so the system performs correctly in the real vehicle—not just on paper.
