MOTORCYCLE AUDIO

Sounds good parked but disappears once you’re moving? That’s the motorcycle problem.

Maybe you want a clean touring upgrade. Maybe you want it loud at road speed. Maybe you are building bags, fairing, DSP, electrical and a competition system. The harder the bike has to play, the more speaker efficiency, aiming, amplifier power, charging support and tuning matter. We build around how you actually ride it.

HOW DO YOU RIDE?

A touring bike and a competition bike should not get the same answer.

Clean TouringWant better music without turning the whole bike into an audio build?Useful speaker upgrades and amplification while keeping the system straightforward.Daily listening
Loud DailyWant it to stay present at road speed?Efficient drivers, aiming, crossover protection and amplifier headroom become the priority.Ride-speed output
Bag / Fairing Pro AudioNeed more cone area and projection?Multiple speaker locations, fabrication, wiring and front-to-rear balance have to be planned together.High output
Competition / ShowWant to go all the way?Larger amplification, electrical, DSP, fabrication and lighting become one system.Full build
REAL SMS MOTORCYCLE WORK

These bikes show why speaker count is only part of the story.

WHY THE BIKE IS DIFFERENT

Wind and road noise do not care how good it sounded in the parking lot.

  • Fairing depth and grille openings limit driver fitment.
  • Aiming determines whether output reaches the rider or projects past them.
  • Lids, lowers and tour-pack speakers need level and crossover control so they work together.
  • Weather, vibration, heat and wash water affect products and wiring.
  • The charging system sets the long-term amplifier power budget.
  • Crossovers protect speakers from wasting power on frequencies they cannot reproduce efficiently.
HOW WE PLAN IT

First tell us how the bike is ridden. Then we decide how much system it needs.

  1. 01Define the ride.

Bike, normal speed, fairing and lid setup, existing equipment and desired output.

  2. 02Check fitment and aiming.

Depth, grille opening, weather exposure and where the driver points affect useful output.

  3. 03Match power to charging.

Battery, charging voltage, cable, fusing, grounds and amplifier current are checked together.

  4. 04Cross over and tune it.

Level, crossover, EQ, delay and phase are set after the installation and electrical are right.

NEXT STEP

Tell us how you ride and what happens to the sound once you get moving.

Year, make, model, current radio, speakers, amplifiers, fairing and lid layout, normal riding conditions and how loud you want it are enough to start.

SMS installs equipment supplied through SMS Car Audio and does not accept customer-supplied products for installation.
