Lighting That Looks Built Into the Vehicle
Lit FX is for the part of a build that needs to look intentional after the sun goes down. Instead of sticking a strip somewhere and hoping the glow lands in the right place, we build the light source around the speaker, subwoofer, panel, factory opening, engraving, or vehicle-specific part that is supposed to be lit.
That is why this collection includes more than one kind of product. A Jeep roof panel solves a different problem than a speaker ring. A 3D ring packages differently than a thick acrylic ring. A fixed-color piece does not use the same controller as an addressable Color-Chase piece. Start with what you are trying to light, then choose the lighting architecture that makes sense for the build.
Start With the Part You Are Lighting
- 3D LED speaker and subwoofer rings: the flexible choice when you need a purpose-built lighted ring around a driver without automatically stepping into a thick acrylic package. Choose the nominal size first, then the speaker/subwoofer application and exact model where available. If your driver is not listed, use the build-to-size route so the ring can be made from the published cutout and outside dimensions instead of guessing from the number on the speaker box.
- 3/4-inch acrylic rings: the heavier edge-lit look when you want the acrylic itself to become a visible design element. These are offered in larger speaker/subwoofer sizes and are especially useful when the build is supposed to show the illuminated ring, not hide it behind a grille.
- KICKER-specific rings: use these when the build is centered around the listed KICKER Street Series or SoloX driver and you want the ring matched to that application instead of selecting from a generic nominal size.
- Jeep and Harley packages: roof panels, seat-side covers, door props, hood props, MOLLE panels, door-pocket deletes, tailgate pieces, Tour-Pak lighting, and the Jeep factory sound-bar ring kit are built around the vehicle or factory location. These packages include the controller matched to the Lighting Type you select and the appropriate extension wiring for that package.
- Custom acrylic panels & plaques: choose a single-layer panel or enclosure window when you need one piece of acrylic, or a three-piece plaque when you want the layered finished construction. Both are built to the finished dimensions you enter.
Color-Chase or Solid Color?
Color-Chase RGB — Addressable is the choice when you want animated effects, multiple colors and coordinated addressable lighting. Lit FX package products include the matching addressable controller and appropriate extension wiring. Loose Color-Chase LED rings are the exception: they do not automatically include a controller or extensions, so those pieces are selected around the system you are adding them to. App control is available when the system uses an app-capable controller such as the SP630E or SP608E.
Solid Red, Solid Blue, and Solid Green are for the customer who wants one color every time the system comes on. Lit FX package products include the matching single-color controller and appropriate extension wiring for the package. They do not use an addressable chase controller. Loose solid-color LED rings are the exception and need their control and wiring selected separately around the system.
Build the Wiring at the Same Time
Package products already include the appropriate extension wiring for the supplied lighting setup. Loose LED rings and expansions to an existing system may still need 3-pin extensions, splitters, or signal buffering depending on the layout. Power should be fused and routed independently of sharp edges, hot surfaces, moving parts, and service points.
The vehicle power harness is separate from Lit FX packages unless a specific product page explicitly says otherwise. The Flashtech FT-FUSEHAR is the short fused power harness used where a compatible controller needs a 5.5 × 2.1 mm DC male power connection. It is not the same product as the FTLED-RF1 controller package.
What Comes With the Lighting Piece?
Lit FX package products include the controller matched to the selected Lighting Type and the appropriate extension wiring. Loose LED ring products are the exception because a customer may be adding one ring to a controller and wiring system that is already installed. The selected product and variant will spell out the included parts for that application. The vehicle power harness remains separate unless the product page specifically states that it is included.
Built for Show, Installed Like Real Equipment
Do not assume Lit FX controllers, lighting connections, or 3-pin connections are waterproof. Keep electrical connections and controllers dry and protected, and follow the product-specific sealing and mounting requirements for exterior Lit FX pieces. On a vehicle installation, the finished lighting still needs correct strain relief, fuse protection, secure mounting, and clean routing just like the audio system around it.
Want to see how these pieces look once they are actually installed? Browse the Lit FX build gallery. For vehicle-specific ideas and installation examples, see the custom vehicle lighting guide. When you need power hardware, additional extensions, splitters, or expansion parts, finish the system in Lit FX Essential Accessories.
