Kicker KISLOAD Integration
Kicker KISLOAD is used when a factory radio or factory amplifier needs speaker-load support during an aftermarket upgrade. SMS Car Audio uses KISLOAD only when the vehicle’s behavior calls for it, usually as part of a larger factory integration plan.
What KISLOAD Does
Some factory radios and factory amplifiers expect to see a speaker load. When that load changes during an aftermarket amplifier or signal integration upgrade, the factory system may behave incorrectly. KISLOAD helps provide the kind of load support those systems may need.
This is different from signal correction. KEYLOC helps with factory signal correction and conversion. KISLOAD helps when the factory system needs load support. Some vehicles need one, some need the other, and some need both.
Spec-Safe Buying Notes
- Verify whether the job calls for KISLOAD2 or KISLOAD4 before quoting or ordering.
- Use KISLOAD only after confirming the factory radio or factory amplifier needs load support.
- Do not use KISLOAD as a substitute for signal correction; that is a different integration job.
- Confirm whether the system also needs KEYLOC, a data interface, DSP, or camera/control retention.
When SMS Considers KISLOAD
- Factory radio or amplifier outputs behave incorrectly after the speaker load changes
- The vehicle needs load support during an aftermarket amplifier upgrade
- A customer wants to keep the factory radio while adding better power and speakers
- A subwoofer or full system is being added to a modern factory audio system
- Testing shows the factory system needs more than a basic signal connection
KISLOAD Is Part of the Plan, Not the Whole Plan
A proper factory-radio amplifier upgrade may also need signal correction, a data interface, camera or steering wheel control retention, amplifier planning, speaker upgrades, subwoofer enclosure planning, wiring, electrical support, and DSP tuning. KISLOAD handles one specific job inside that larger plan.
SMS checks the vehicle first so the customer is not buying random integration parts that do not match the system problem.
