If the factory system gives us a stable low-frequency signal with the bandwidth we need, a simple high-level connection or LOC may be enough.

If all you want is more bass, the integration may be simple. If the factory amplifier splits frequencies, changes EQ with volume or expects a specific speaker load, the plan changes fast.
We do not automatically throw a DSP at every factory system. We use the simplest integration method that actually solves the signal problem.

KEYLOC is useful when a compatible stereo speaker-level signal needs supported factory processing corrected before it feeds the aftermarket amplifier.
KISLOAD provides a speaker-like electrical load when a factory output expects one. It does not create missing frequencies or flatten factory EQ.
When the OEM system uses several split or heavily processed channels, a vehicle-specific interface, summing strategy or full DSP can be the cleaner route.
Factory systems can use EQ, bass roll-off, split bandwidth, delay, all-pass filters, load detection and dedicated factory amplifiers. That processing was built around the original speakers. Once the speakers and power change, we have to decide what needs to stay, what needs correction and what needs bypassing.

The goal was more bass, not a new dashboard. The factory system stayed and the KICKER bass system was added around it.
Factory features can stay while the signal path and amplification behind them are upgraded correctly.
The source staying stock does not mean the rest of the system has to stay stock.
