Lit FX Privacy Policy

Lit FX is provided by SMS Car Audio. SMS Car Audio is operated by Simple Mobile Solutions LLC. This policy explains how the Lit FX mobile application handles information when you use it to control supported Bluetooth LED controllers.
Information Lit FX handles
Lit FX is designed to discover, connect to, read status from, and control compatible LED lighting controllers over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The app does not require a Lit FX account.
- Bluetooth device information: Device names, Bluetooth identifiers, signal strength, services, characteristics, and controller configuration may be processed on your device to establish and maintain a connection.
- App settings and controller data: Controller names, zones, presets, favorites, scenes, schedules, hardware setup, and last-used lighting settings may be stored locally on your device.
- Location permission on older Android versions: Android 11 and earlier may require location permission for Bluetooth scanning. Lit FX uses that permission only to enable BLE discovery and does not use it to determine, store, or transmit your physical location.
Microphone and music-reactive modes
The current Lit FX release does not request phone-microphone access and does not record or process audio from your phone. Music-reactive modes on supported controllers use the controller's own hardware microphone when that controller provides the feature.
Data collection, sharing, and advertising
The current Lit FX release does not include advertising, third-party analytics, behavioral tracking, or a Lit FX cloud account service. SMS Car Audio does not sell personal information and the app does not transmit Bluetooth controller data, local presets, or controller-microphone audio to SMS Car Audio servers.
Local storage and retention
Controller information and app preferences stored by Lit FX remain locally on your device until you remove them through the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app, subject to the capabilities of your device and operating system.
Permissions
Lit FX requests only permissions needed for supported features, including Bluetooth or Nearby Devices access and, on older Android versions where required by the operating system, location permission for BLE discovery. The current release does not require phone-microphone permission.
Children's privacy
Lit FX is a general-purpose hardware-control utility and is not directed to children under 13. The current app does not require an account or intentionally collect personal information from children.
Security
Lit FX minimizes data handling by keeping controller settings and app preferences on the device and avoiding unnecessary cloud transmission. No method of electronic storage or device communication can be guaranteed completely secure.
Changes to this policy
If a future version adds a feature that changes how information or permissions are handled, this policy and applicable app-store disclosures will be updated before or when that feature is released.
