Lit FX Privacy Policy

Lit FX is provided by Simple Mobile Solutions, doing business as SMS Car Audio (“SMS Car Audio,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how the Lit FX mobile application handles information.
Information Lit FX handles
Lit FX is designed to control compatible LED lighting controllers over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). The app does not require a Lit FX account.
- Bluetooth device information: The app scans for and connects to nearby compatible BLE devices. Device names, identifiers, signal strength, services, characteristics, and controller configuration may be processed on the device to establish and maintain a connection.
- App settings and controller data: Controller names, zones, presets, favorites, scenes, schedules, hardware setup, and last-used lighting settings may be stored locally on your device.
- Location permission on older Android versions: Android versions 11 and earlier may require location permission for Bluetooth scanning. Lit FX does not use this permission to determine, store, or transmit your precise physical location.
- Microphone/audio: If a version of Lit FX offers a phone-microphone music-reactive feature and you choose to enable it, microphone audio is used only to drive lighting effects. Audio is processed locally on the device and is not recorded, retained, sold, or transmitted by Lit FX.
Data collection, sharing, and advertising
The current Lit FX app does not include advertising, third-party analytics, behavioral tracking, or a Lit FX cloud account service. We do not sell personal information. We do not transmit Bluetooth controller data, local presets, or microphone audio to SMS Car Audio servers.
Local storage and retention
App preferences and controller settings are stored locally on your device. They remain there until you remove them through the app, clear the app’s data, or uninstall the app, subject to the capabilities of your device and operating system.
Permissions
Lit FX requests only permissions needed for supported features, such as Bluetooth scanning and connection and, when applicable, microphone access for music-reactive operation. You can manage permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work if a required permission is denied.
Children’s privacy
Lit FX is a general-purpose LED controller application and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.
Security
Lit FX minimizes data handling by keeping controller settings and app preferences on the device and avoiding unnecessary cloud transmission. No method of electronic storage or device communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Lit FX gains new controller support or features. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
