WHERE THE SPACE GOES

The outside of the box is not the airspace the sub gets to use.

  • Seat frame, carpet, floor contour and cushion reduce usable height.
  • Subwoofer depth, motor shape, terminals and cone travel need clearance.
  • Bracing, double baffles, ports and internal panels reduce net airspace.
  • Storage trays, factory brackets, vents and wiring occupy apparent space.
  • Ported enclosures need enough port area and length without contacting the seat.
  • The enclosure still needs secure mounting and future service access.
PLAN IT IN THIS ORDER

Measure the truck before falling in love with the subwoofer.

  1. 01What space is actually usable?

    Cab, seat, lift, floor contours, storage and required seat movement define the envelope.

  2. 02How much net volume is left?

    Subtract driver, port, bracing and structure before deciding what belongs there.

  3. 03Does the exact driver fit?

    Cutout, outside frame, depth, motor shape and terminals have to clear both the box and the truck.

  4. 04Then match the amplifier and electrical.

    Final impedance, power, wiring, charging support and filtering come after the driver and enclosure layout.
