ARC Audio BXM Bass Enhancement Module
Sometimes the system is clean and tuned correctly, but the speakers or enclosure simply run out of useful low-frequency output before the music feels complete. Adding more EQ below that physical limit usually spends amplifier power and cone travel without giving you much more usable bass.
The BXM takes a different route. ARC's BX2 bass-enhancement process uses harmonic information to create the perception of deeper bass without asking the speaker to reproduce the missing fundamental at the same level. ARC states that the effect can extend perceived response as much as 1.5 octaves below the speaker system's normal F3 point without increasing peak cone excursion or peak amplifier demand the way conventional low-frequency boost can.
Where it makes sense
- Compact systems where speaker size or enclosure space limits true low-frequency extension
- Factory-integration systems where the signal is usable but the bottom octave feels thin
- Motorcycle, powersports and space-constrained audio systems where adding a larger subwoofer system is not practical
The BXM does not turn a small speaker into a large subwoofer. It works with psychoacoustic bass perception, so the correct use is to make a limited system sound deeper—not to ignore the speaker's mechanical limits.
Signal-path options
The module accepts two-channel RCA input and provides a two-channel processed output. ARC also supports connection to selected BTL speaker-level source signals. In that BTL-triggered configuration, ARC notes that the source can provide the operating reference without a conventional separate power, ground and remote connection.
BXM vs. SRI vs. NGM
Choose BXM when the signal is already usable and the goal is deeper perceived bass from a system with physical low-frequency limitations.
Choose SRI when the factory amplifier has split the music into band-limited channels that need to be summed back together.
Choose NGM when the issue is standing hiss or background noise during quiet sections, not missing low-frequency extension.

System note: the BXM should be set around the actual speaker system and its usable bandwidth. It is an enhancement processor, not a replacement for proper crossover design, gain structure or a real subwoofer where the system has room for one.
