Description

ARC Audio LR-2 Programmable DSP Level Controller

A tuned system should not hand the customer twenty controls they can accidentally use to undo it. Sometimes the right interface is one knob with one job.

That is exactly what the ARC Audio LR-2 is. It is a programmable single-function physical controller for compatible ARC Audio DSPs and DSP amplifiers. We assign its function inside ARC Audio DNA, define what that control is allowed to do, and the customer gets quick access to that one adjustment without opening a laptop or touching amplifier gains.

One knob. One defined job. No guessing.

The LR-2 can be assigned to a function such as master system volume, subwoofer level, bass boost or another compatible level function defined inside the DSP.

The important part is that the assignment lives in the DSP configuration. The knob does not randomly change the tune. It controls the function we intentionally gave it.

That makes it especially useful for subwoofer level. Different recordings carry very different amounts of bass. Giving the customer a properly assigned sub-level control lets them make a reasonable song-to-song adjustment without touching the amplifier gain and throwing the whole system calibration off.

What that solves: the customer gets the adjustment they actually need while the crossover, EQ, delay and rest of the tune stay protected.

Simple customer control is usually better than unnecessary menus.

There are systems where a full display controller makes sense. There are also plenty of systems where it creates more interface than the customer will ever use.

The LR-2 is intentionally simple. Turn the knob. Adjust the assigned function. That is it.

For a daily-driver system, that can be the better user experience because the customer does not need to remember menu paths, preset names or which parameter they are supposed to change. The installer decides what matters during tuning and gives them direct access to that one control.

One LR-2 can control two ARC processors together.

ARC designed the LR-2 to control up to two compatible ARC Audio DSPs simultaneously.

With the included cable, it controls one processor. Add a second compatible digitally isolated ARC Audio LRC cable and the same LR-2 can control the assigned function across two processors at the same time.

That matters in larger systems. If two DSPs are sharing responsibility for one audio system, a master-volume or level adjustment should remain synchronized. The customer should not need two knobs and a memory of where each one was set.

What that solves: one physical adjustment can behave like one system even when the electronics underneath it use two processors.

It can mount like a finished part instead of an add-on.

The LR-2 comes pre-mounted to a right-angle bracket for a straightforward installation and includes a 20-foot data cable for connection to one processor.

For custom work, the knob and circuit board can be removed from the supplied bracket. That lets us integrate the control into a console, trim panel or other location where it looks like it belongs in the vehicle instead of like something stuck on afterward.

LR-2 or a more advanced controller?

Choose LR-2 when the customer needs one physical control that is easy to understand and hard to misuse.

If the system needs display feedback, access to several DSP functions or broader on-the-fly system control, then a more advanced ARC controller may make more sense.

The LR-2 is not limited because it only does one function. That simplicity is the feature.

The result: the customer gets useful day-to-day control without turning the finished DSP tune into something they have to manage themselves.
