Description

ARC Audio PS8-Pro — 8 Outputs | 2-Way Front + Rear/Sub

If you're looking at these three DSPs and asking, “Which one do I actually need?” start with the system layout—not the biggest number.

Choose the PS8-Pro when the whole system fits inside eight independently tuned outputs.

Common layouts that make sense on the PS8-Pro:
• Active 2-way front stage: 4 outputs
• Stereo rear fill: 2 outputs
• Mono subwoofer: 1 output
That is 7 outputs total, leaving one output available.

Another good PS8-Pro layout:
• Active 3-way front stage: 6 outputs
• Subwoofer: 1 or 2 outputs
That puts the system at 7–8 outputs.

That is why the PS8-Pro is such a strong fit for a serious daily-driver system. You get ARC Audio’s Pro-Series DSP platform without paying for processing channels the build does not need.

What does that actually do for the customer?

It gives us independent control over the speakers that matter. We can correct the factory signal, set the crossover points, align arrival time, shape the response and route the system so the front stage pulls up and forward instead of sounding like it is stuck in the doors. We can also make the subwoofer blend into the front stage instead of sounding like a separate box playing behind you.

The PS8-Pro is also built for real OEM integration. ARC specifies analog and speaker-level input compatibility from 0.5–32 V RMS, built-in high-resolution optical input, optional coaxial digital input through the ARC D.O.C. adapter, and iDatalink Maestro AR support in compatible vehicles.

ARC’s current PS8-Pro page specifies processing up to 96 kHz / 32-bit and up to 296 bands of third-octave or fully customizable parametric EQ through ARC Audio DNA.

Which one should you buy?

Choose PS8-Pro if eight outputs finish the system.

Move to PS12-Pro if you are doing a 3-way active front stage plus rear fill and subwoofer, or if eight outputs would force us to combine speakers that should stay independent.

Do not jump to PS16-Pro just because it is the biggest one. If the complete system fits inside eight outputs, this is the right processor.

Where this fits in the build

This is a system-control or DSP component. The correct choice depends on the signal path, channel count, routing, retained features and the rest of the amplifier and speaker plan.
