Choose the D4.2K when the system needs AudioCenter’s full four-channel DSP/loudspeaker-management platform but the speakers do not need the output, AC demand or rack burden of the larger D models. It is the cleanest fit for smaller full-range cabinets, fills, monitor channels and installed low-Z zones where 550 W × 4 at 4 ohms is already the right power class.
The reason to buy this instead of the D4.4K, D4.6K or D4.10K is system match—not price alone. AudioCenter publishes 350 W × 4 at 8 ohms, 550 W × 4 at 4 ohms and 1,100 W × 2 bridged at 8 ohms under its 1 kHz / 20 ms burst / 1% THD+N test condition. Its published 1/8-power consumption is 375 W, and the 404 mm-deep chassis weighs 8.5 kg, so it is also the easiest D-Series model to accommodate when rack depth and branch-circuit capacity are limited.
