BOSS Elite 550B — Single-DIN Bluetooth CD Receiver
The 550B is a traditional single-DIN radio for the customer who still wants a disc slot and simple physical controls. It adds Bluetooth hands-free calling and audio streaming to the familiar CD/AM/FM format, with front USB plus front and rear AUX inputs for devices that still need a cable.
This is not the model to buy just because it is inexpensive. The right reason is that the customer specifically wants CD playback and a single-DIN chassis. If discs no longer matter, the 460BRGB’s mechless 4-inch-deep chassis is much easier to package than the 550B’s 7.625-inch depth. If multicolor illumination and a detachable face matter, the 560BRGB is the closer single-DIN disc-model comparison.
Front and rear preamp outputs let the 550B feed aftermarket amplifiers. It does not provide CarPlay, Android Auto or a large touchscreen, so it belongs in a straightforward source-replacement system rather than being sold as a modern phone-integration radio.
