Lucas Lighting L-1157SB Switchback LED Bulb Pair
Want the front marker or daytime-running light to stay white, but still have the same bulb flash amber when you hit the turn signal? That is the job of the L-1157SB. Instead of adding a separate white accent light next to the turn signal, the switchback bulb handles both functions through the compatible 1157-style socket.
In normal marker/DRL operation, the bulb illuminates white. When the turn signal is activated, it switches over to amber flashing so the signal function stays visually correct. Lucas Lighting builds the L-1157SB as a 16-LED CANBUS high-output bulb pair, which makes it a cleaner upgrade when the vehicle already uses the front 1157-family socket for both running-light and turn-signal duties.
This makes the most sense when the factory bulb location and wiring already support that dual-function behavior. Lucas lists the L-1157SB as a replacement for a range of common 1157-family numbers, so the base style may cross over to several factory bulb references without changing the socket.
What it will not do: a compatible bulb base does not guarantee every vehicle will operate a switchback LED without a warning message or hyperflash. CANBUS-compatible electronics help with modern lighting systems, but vehicle-specific bulb monitoring and flasher logic can still vary. Verify the factory bulb type and the vehicle's LED compatibility before treating this as a universal plug-in fix.
