Description

DB Drive P9TW 3M 1.75-Inch Mini Super Tweeters — Pair

Have a loud midrange section but the system loses the top end once the volume comes up? That is where the P9TW 3M fits. These are compact pro-audio super tweeters built to add the upper-frequency output and detail that a bank of mids cannot reproduce on its own, without needing the depth of a larger horn or compression-driver setup.

The P9TW 3M is especially useful when mounting depth is tight. DB Drive lists an ultra-shallow mounting depth of about 36 mm, while the 105 dB sensitivity lets the pair make a lot of high-frequency output without needing extreme amplifier power. Each tweeter is rated at 130 watts RMS, 320 watts peak and 4 ohms, with a published operating range of 6 kHz–22 kHz.

DB Drive includes a 6 dB/octave passive high-pass crossover, and the protective mesh grille is designed to help with dispersion while keeping the diaphragm protected. The diaphragm is also replaceable, which matters on a high-output system where the tweeters may see a lot of use.

What they will not do: these are super tweeters, not midrange or vocal drivers. DB Drive publishes their range starting at 6 kHz, so the midrange section needs to play cleanly high enough to meet them. They also still need proper high-pass protection; the included passive crossover is part of the system, not an optional piece to leave out because the tweeters are rated for high power.
