Description

DB Drive WDX69MOTO 6×9-Inch Motorcycle Loudspeakers — Pair

Motorcycle or powersports system sounds fine sitting still, then gets swallowed by wind, road, and exhaust noise once you are moving? That is the problem the WDX69MOTO is built around. This is a high-efficiency 6×9 coaxial made for open-air use, so you get more usable output from the same speaker opening instead of trying to make a normal car-door 6×9 do a job it was never designed for.

DB Drive rates the WDX69MOTO at 103.2 dB sensitivity, 250 watts nominal power, and 500 watts maximum power. That efficiency matters on a motorcycle because the goal is not just throwing more amplifier power at the speaker; it is getting strong output from a driver that can stay clear when the vehicle is actually being ridden. An aluminum dome tweeter with a rear resonance chamber handles the top end, while the treated cone and ribbed surround handle the midrange and upper-bass work.

The weather-resistant construction is another reason these make sense outside a normal car cabin. DB Drive lists the WDX69MOTO as IP52 weather resistant and includes protective grilles, so the pair is better suited to fairings, lids, pods, and other exposed motorcycle or powersports locations. Published mounting depth is about 2.81 inches, with a 6.02 × 8.77-inch cutout, so we would verify the panel, magnet clearance, and grille space before cutting.

What they will not do: these are high-output coaxial loudspeakers, not subwoofers. DB Drive publishes a 70 Hz–21 kHz frequency response, so they can give you useful upper bass and strong midrange, but they are not the part we would use to create deep bass. If the system needs substantially more vocal projection than a coaxial can provide, a compression-driver-style motorcycle speaker is the more aggressive route.

Where this fits in the build

Speaker choice should follow the listening goal and the location it has to work in. Factory replacement, sound quality, loud daily and high-output builds have different priorities.
