iDatalink Maestro ACC-RR-WPB Weatherproof Enclosure for Maestro RR
On a Harley, open Jeep or other moisture-prone install, the Maestro RR can be doing the integration perfectly and still be mounted in an environment that is rough on electronics.
ACC-RR-WPB is the protective enclosure built specifically around the original Maestro RR / ADS-MRR module. Instead of putting the interface in a generic project box, it gives the RR a housing designed around its shape and wiring while adding the sealing features needed for a more exposed installation.
The enclosure uses interlocking covers, silicone seals and a gasket at the wiring-harness exit. That lets the RR stay connected and serviceable while giving the module more protection than it would have loose behind a motorcycle fairing or in another area that can see moisture.
Protection Does Not Replace Good Mounting
We still choose the mounting location like we would for any other electronic module. The enclosure should stay away from standing water, direct heat, sharp edges and areas where the harness can be crushed or pulled. The box adds environmental protection; it is not an excuse to put the RR in the worst possible spot and forget about it.
On a Harley radio replacement, for example, we would finish the vehicle/radio programming and harness connections first, then place the RR in the enclosure where the wiring has room to bend naturally and the module can still be accessed later. The same logic applies to a Jeep or other open-cabin vehicle.
One Fitment Detail Is Non-Negotiable
ACC-RR-WPB fits the original Maestro RR / ADS-MRR. It does not fit Maestro RR2 / ADS-MRR2.
If the vehicle application requires RR2, this is not the enclosure to order. We check the actual Maestro module first, then plan the housing and mounting location around that hardware.
