Description

iDatalink Maestro ACC-SP1 Warning Chime Speaker

The new radio can work perfectly and the install can still be wrong if a factory safety alert no longer has a speaker to play through.

On selected vehicles, warning sounds for systems such as collision avoidance, lane departure, parking assistance or blind-spot detection are routed through the factory radio/audio system. When that radio is removed, the vehicle may need a dedicated replacement path for those alerts. ACC-SP1 is the Maestro chime speaker used when the vehicle application calls for it.

SP1 is required only when the exact vehicle and programmed application specify it. When required, it is part of the integration—not an optional little speaker to leave out because the new stereo already makes sound.

Why It Matters in the Finished Install

Two vehicles can use similar radios and still handle safety chimes differently. One may retain the alert through the supported factory audio path; another may need SP1 because the original radio or amplifier was part of that audible warning circuit.

When SP1 is required, connect it through the supported Maestro workflow and mount it where the warnings remain clearly audible without turning the cabin into a visible add-on project. On some supported applications, leaving the required speaker out can also change how the new radio behaves when a parking or safety system becomes active.

RR, RR2 and SR Applications Can Call for It

ACC-SP1 is not limited to RR or RR2. iDatalink also specifies it in selected Maestro SR installations. That does not mean every RR, RR2 or SR build needs one—the vehicle-specific installation guide is the deciding factor.

It is also not a general-purpose speaker, door-speaker replacement or amplifier accessory. It exists for the vehicle warning/chime functions identified by iDatalink, and it does not create support for an otherwise unsupported safety system.
