iDatalink Maestro APX-S8-GM1 GM 8-Inch Radio Installation Kit
On these GM trucks and SUVs, replacing the factory 8-inch screen is not just a matter of making another radio fit the opening. The vehicle integration behind that screen has to come with it.
APX-S8-GM1 is the Maestro APX installation kit for supported Chevrolet and GMC applications using a compatible 8-inch Direct Replacement radio. It handles the vehicle-specific dash and wiring side of the job so the new radio can work with Maestro RR or RR2 instead of being installed as a pile of unrelated universal parts.
The factory radio can be tied into steering-wheel controls, vehicle information, parking-assistance data, climate information and other functions that customers still expect to work after the upgrade. With the correct Maestro module, compatible radio and flashed application, those supported functions can stay part of the vehicle instead of disappearing with the OEM screen.
The Bose System Changes the Job
The important check on this GM kit is the factory audio package. iDatalink specifically calls out supported Bose-equipped applications as requiring the factory amplifier to be bypassed. That is not a small detail we discover after the dash is apart—it changes the audio-system plan and needs to be accounted for before the radio install is quoted.
A non-Bose truck and a Bose truck may look nearly identical at the screen and still need different work behind it. We verify the exact vehicle, factory screen, radio/RPO information and audio package first, then build the radio and amplifier integration around what is actually in the truck.

The kit is not a complete radio replacement by itself. A compatible 8-inch APX / Direct Replacement radio and Maestro RR or RR2 are required separately, and the exact vehicle can still need antenna, USB, camera, amplifier-bypass or other installation hardware.
