Cutout is the rounded-square opening the speaker needs. Overall frame is the full outside width and height. They are different measurements.Cutout corners are R1-1/8 in (29 mm). The 4-ohm and 8-ohm ST9 versions use the same physical fit. SMS matches impedance to the amplifier and complete system.

Description

Choose ST9MR4 when the build can fit the larger 9-inch square PA midrange and the amplifier/speaker count calls for a 4-ohm driver. The 9-inch is the bigger-output/greater-cone-area choice over ST7 when space allows. The 4-ohm and 8-ohm versions are wiring/load options—not sound-quality grades—so select impedance around the total number of speakers and the amplifier's safe final load.
