Carry the Build Overhead with a Matched Pair of Custom Freedom-Panel Inserts

If the doors, dash, audio system and other details already have a theme, the two front Freedom Panels are one of the biggest places left to carry that same look through the Jeep. This Lit FX set gives you a matched pair of custom-engraved, illuminated acrylic panels built specifically for the factory front Freedom Panels on compatible JL, JLU and Gladiator hardtops.

The shape is built around the Jeep application, the artwork is laid out across the pair, and you approve the digital render before fabrication starts. That gives the two front roof sections one coordinated design rather than treating each panel as a separate piece.

Photo note: Some installation photos may also show an overhead MOLLE rack, center roof panel, rear roof panels, or other custom lighting. Those items are not included with this product. This listing is for the two front Freedom Panels only.

Choose the Lighting Around the Build

• Color-Chase RGB — Addressable: Dynamic color effects with static-color capability. The matching addressable controller is included.
• Solid Red: Fixed red illumination with the matching single-color controller included.
• Solid Blue: Fixed blue illumination with the matching single-color controller included.
• Solid Green: Fixed green illumination with the matching single-color controller included.

The solid-color selections do not use an addressable chase controller; they include the appropriate single-color controller instead.

Where It Fits in a Full Jeep Build

The front set makes the most sense when the Jeep already has other custom lighting or engraved pieces and you want the theme to continue overhead. Because the two Freedom Panels are removable, the wiring and mounting have to be planned so the panels can still be serviced and removed without leaving a loose or pinched harness behind.

Route the included extension wiring away from latches, seals, sharp edges and the areas that move when the Freedom Panels come on and off. The supplied mounting hardware needs to be installed square and secure so the acrylic sits cleanly without being stressed or overtightened.

Before You Order

Confirm the Jeep has the compatible factory hardtop and front Freedom Panels. This pair is for JL/JLU and Gladiator JT factory front Freedom Panels; soft tops and aftermarket replacement roof systems are not confirmed.

Choose the Lighting Type. Quantity 1 is the complete two-panel set with matching controller, extension wiring, nutserts, bolts and panel hardware. A nutsert installation tool is required and is not included.

After Purchase — Send Us the Vision

You do not need finished artwork before checkout. After the order is placed, email al@smscaraudio.com with your order number plus the names, colors, theme, logos or approved graphics, reference photos, and anything else that helps us design the pair.

We take it from there. SMS Car Audio / Lit FX lays out the artwork across both Freedom-Panel inserts, emails the digital render back to you, works through any needed changes, and begins fabrication only after you approve the final artwork.

Power & Wiring

The matching controller and appropriate extension wiring are included. The lighting still requires a properly fused 12-volt power connection and a secure ground. The vehicle power harness is sold separately. Route the wiring so it is protected from sharp edges, moving roof hardware and any point where it can be pinched during Freedom Panel removal or installation.

Installation Notes

Installation requires drilling and correctly installing the supplied nutserts, bolts and mounting hardware. A nutsert tool is required and is not included.

Every mounting point has to be secure before the Jeep is driven. Do not use the panels if either one shifts, rattles, sags or becomes loose, and do not overtighten the hardware against the acrylic. Inspect the mounting hardware after installation and periodically afterward.
