Replace the Rear Side Glass with a Matched Pair of Custom Lit FX Panels

This is one of the biggest visual changes you can make to a hardtop JL or JLU because the panels do not mount over the factory glass — they replace it. The left and right rear side windows are removed, and the Lit FX panels take their place as custom-milled, illuminated 3/4-inch acrylic pieces built around the Jeep application.

If you want the exterior profile of the Jeep and the interior lighting theme to carry the same artwork, this is the piece that does both at once. We lay out the artwork across the pair, you approve the digital rendering, and the panels are fabricated around that approved design.

Why This Is a Different Kind of Install

The factory rear side glass is removed and the Lit FX panels become the new bonded side panels. That means the install has to be treated like an automotive glass job, not like mounting a trim accessory.

Surface preparation, adhesive selection, positioning, sealing and cure time all matter. A bad bond or seal can create wind noise, water leaks, a loose panel or hardtop damage regardless of how good the finished lighting looks.

Professional Automotive Glass Installation Required

This product must be installed and sealed by a qualified professional experienced with automotive glass removal, bonding and weather sealing. It is not recommended as a do-it-yourself installation.

Choose the Lighting Around the Build

• Color-Chase RGB — Addressable: Dynamic color effects with static-color capability. The matching addressable controller is included.
• Solid Red: Fixed red illumination with the matching single-color controller included.
• Solid Blue: Fixed blue illumination with the matching single-color controller included.
• Solid Green: Fixed green illumination with the matching single-color controller included.

The solid-color selections do not use an addressable chase controller; they include the appropriate single-color controller instead.

Where It Fits in a Full Build

These panels make the most sense when the Jeep already has a defined theme — club name, vehicle name, audio-system identity, colors or other artwork — and you want that identity visible from outside the Jeep as well as illuminated inside it. Because the pair takes over such a large part of the hardtop, the artwork should be planned with the rest of the Lit FX pieces instead of treated as a separate graphic.

Confirm the Jeep and roof configuration before checkout. This pair is for two-door JL and four-door JL/JLU applications with a compatible factory-style hardtop. It is not intended for soft-top applications.

Choose the Lighting Type and plan for professional automotive-glass removal, bonding and weather sealing. These panels replace the factory rear side glass; they are not overlays or trim pieces.

After Purchase — Send Us the Vision

You do not need finished artwork before checkout. After the order is placed, email al@smscaraudio.com with your order number, Jeep year/body configuration, build name, wording, colors, theme, logos or approved graphics, reference photos, and anything else that helps us understand the direction.

We take it from there. SMS Car Audio / Lit FX lays out the artwork across the left and right panels, emails the digital proof back to you, works through any needed changes, and begins production only after you approve the final artwork.

Power & Wiring

The matching controller and appropriate extension wiring for both panels are included. The lighting still requires a properly fused 12-volt power connection and a secure ground. The vehicle power harness is sold separately.

Plan the wiring so it does not interfere with hardtop installation, interior trim or normal vehicle operation.
