MMATS Pro Audio AS Shallow Subwoofers
The AS Series is MMATS' shallow-depth subwoofer option for installations where enclosure depth is the hard limit. It is available in 10-inch and 12-inch dual-4-ohm versions.
Why we use it: truck-seat, side-panel and other space-limited builds often need real low-frequency capability without giving up useful interior room. AS lets us preserve packaging space without dropping all the way to a lightweight factory-replacement woofer.
Tradeoffs
- A shallow subwoofer still needs the correct enclosure volume and tuning.
- It is not the right choice when maximum displacement/SPL is the only goal; a deeper high-excursion driver has more room for motor and suspension.
- Final impedance and amplifier power should be planned before deciding between single or multiple subs.
