Focal TWU 1.5 Universal Tweeters — Pair
Factory tweeter location is usable, but the top end is dull, harsh or just does not have the detail you want? The TWU 1.5 gives you a compact Focal tweeter that can work in several different mounting situations instead of forcing the entire front-stage design around one fixed cup.
Focal uses an Aluminum/Magnesium inverted dome with a neodymium motor. The point of that design is clean, extended high-frequency detail without needing a large tweeter assembly. Focal publishes response to 21 kHz and 94 dB sensitivity, so this is the kind of tweeter we would use when the system needs better definition and imaging up top, not just more treble volume.
The mounting flexibility is a big part of why the TWU 1.5 makes sense in real vehicles. Focal provides four installation approaches: flush mount, surface mount, angled support or placement behind the factory grille after removing the tweeter from its support. That gives us more ways to use a good acoustic location without turning a simple tweeter upgrade into unnecessary fabrication.
What they will not do: these are dedicated tweeters, not full-range speakers. Focal's published operating range begins at 4 kHz, and the tweeters use an integrated 6 dB/octave crossover, so they need to be paired with a midrange or midbass that can hand off cleanly into that range. Physical fit also still matters; “universal” means flexible mounting, not guaranteed drop-in fit in every factory tweeter opening.
