PAC ANC-CH01 Active Noise Cancellation Bypass Harness
Once the factory audio system gets real aftermarket amplification, a stand-alone ANC module can start correcting for an acoustic environment that no longer exists.
Active Noise Cancellation uses cabin microphones and the factory audio system to generate low-frequency correction. PAC specifies bypassing the compatible ANC audio path on supported Chrysler-family applications when aftermarket amplification is added, both to keep the new system from fighting that correction and to protect the ANC module from a system it was not designed to drive.
ANC-CH01 does that through factory-style plug-in connectors instead of cutting the vehicle wiring.
Bypass the Audio Function, Keep the Vehicle Happy
The important detail is that the ANC module does not simply disappear from the vehicle. PAC keeps it connected to the data bus for diagnostic health while bypassing its audio role in the upgraded system.
That is cleaner than unplugging the module completely, and it is far better than leaving ANC active and finding out after tuning that the vehicle is creating cancellation or unwanted low-frequency behavior through the new speakers and amplifiers.
Use It Only Where the Vehicle Actually Has the Supported ANC Module
This harness is application-specific. A Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM badge does not mean the vehicle automatically needs ANC-CH01. ANC equipment varies by model, year, trim and factory audio package.
Supported applications include specified Pacifica, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and later RAM truck configurations. The vehicle must have the compatible stand-alone ANC module and match a supported ANC-CH01 application.
