Where this fits in the build
This is a system-control or DSP component. The correct choice depends on the signal path, channel count, routing, retained features and the rest of the amplifier and speaker plan.
Description
PAC AP4-CH41 R.2 AmpPRO 4 Chrysler / Dodge / Jeep / RAM Amplifier Integration
CH41 is where the Chrysler-family integration gets more interesting, because PAC uses the same platform across supported amplified systems and certain non-amplified applications.
On a factory-amplified vehicle, AP4-CH41 R.2 does the job we expect from AmpPRO: keep the factory radio and supported controls, then provide front, rear and non-fading/subwoofer preamp outputs for the aftermarket DSP or amplifiers. The new system starts from a much cleaner signal path instead of being built after the factory amplifier has already done its EQ and routing.
On select non-amplified vehicles, CH41 can also reconfigure the factory radio for aftermarket amplification. That is a completely different use case from simply adding a subwoofer. Once PAC changes the radio behavior for that application, the aftermarket amplifier has to power the vehicle speakers. The interface is becoming the front end for the whole new amplified system.
The Exact Chrysler Architecture Matters
CH41 covers a later 52-pin platform than CH21, while Uconnect 5 vehicles move into CH42 or use the CH42 expansion path where PAC specifies. Screen size, ANC equipment, factory amplification and exact vehicle application can all change the parts list.
If the vehicle is factory amplified and the new amplifier is taking over speaker channels, PAC’s matching APH harness can handle the return path into the factory wiring. If a supported non-amplified application has stand-alone Active Noise Cancellation, PAC calls for the ANC system to be addressed rather than leaving it active to fight the upgraded audio system.
Certain Uconnect 5 applications use APH-CH42 with AP4-CH41 R.2. That is a specific pairing, not a generic way to convert every CH41 job into Uconnect 5 support.
Analog or Optical From the Same Integration Point
The standard AmpPRO outputs provide up to 5V RMS analog signal. If the downstream DSP or amplifier accepts optical, the optional APA-TOS1 can provide a 48 kHz / 24-bit TOSLINK handoff on the supported analog-based AP4 path.
