PAC AP4-FD21 AmpPRO 4 Ford Sony / B&O Amplifier Integration

FD21 is for the Ford systems that sit between the older Sony architecture and the newer A2B B&O platforms. The factory radio stays, but we stop building the upgrade after the factory amplifier has already shaped the signal.

AP4-FD21 provides front, rear and non-fading/subwoofer preamp outputs for the aftermarket DSP or amplifiers while retaining the supported factory controls and vehicle audio functions. The new system gets a clean signal foundation without asking the customer to give up SYNC or the factory interface.

Factory volume, fade, balance, bass, mid and treble remain integrated in supported applications, along with SYNC, Bluetooth audio and warning chimes. That makes FD21 useful when the build is a real front/rear/subwoofer amplifier upgrade rather than a simple bass add-on.

The Factory Amplifier Decides the Fit

PAC validates FD21 on specific Sony and B&O systems. For example, PAC notes that certain 2018–2019 Super Duty trucks can be compatible with either supported Sony or B&O equipment, while 2019+ Mustang applications require the supported B&O system. An amplified but unbadged analog Mustang system is not the same architecture and is not covered just because it has a factory amplifier.

Confirm the actual factory audio package and amplifier instead of ordering from year/model alone. Older Sony systems can belong on FD11, while newer A2B B&O systems move to FD31 or FD32.

Build the Rest of the System From the Right Signal

The 5V RMS analog outputs can feed aftermarket amplifiers directly or go into a DSP for crossover, EQ, time alignment and routing. APH-FD01 can provide the factory speaker-wiring return path on supported applications. If the downstream equipment accepts optical, the optional APA-TOS1 can provide a 48 kHz / 24-bit TOSLINK output.
