Where this fits in the build

This is a system-control or DSP component. The correct choice depends on the signal path, channel count, routing, retained features and the rest of the amplifier and speaker plan.

Description

PAC AP4-FD32 AmpPRO 4 2025+ Ford B&O A2B Amplifier Integration

Ford kept the B&O name for 2025+, but the A2B system changed enough that PAC gave it its own interface. FD32 is the correct path when the supported newer Ford belongs to this generation.

AP4-FD32 removes the factory B&O amplifier from the audio chain and gives the aftermarket system the signal and speaker-bypass connections needed to take over cleanly. The factory radio stays in place, supported vehicle audio functions stay integrated, and the new DSP or amplifiers can be chosen around the system we actually want to build.

That is the important difference from simply adding an amplifier after the OEM system. On FD32 applications, the factory amplifier is disconnected or removed. The new system is not sharing speaker channels with it or trying to correct its output after the fact.

The Optical Path Is Already Part of FD32

FD32 provides front, rear and non-fading/subwoofer analog outputs up to 5V RMS, but it also includes a variable two-channel TOSLINK optical output. If the DSP or amplifier accepts optical, the digital handoff is already built into the interface package—APA-TOS1 is not an extra part we need to add.

That makes FD32 a strong starting point for a DSP-based build where we want to keep the factory screen and controls but replace the amplification architecture behind it. Supported warning chimes, navigation prompts, Bluetooth audio and telematics audio remain part of the vehicle experience while the aftermarket system handles the actual sound.

FD31 and FD32 Are Not Interchangeable

Both are Ford B&O A2B AmpPRO interfaces, but they belong to different generations. FD31 covers the earlier supported A2B applications beginning around 2018. FD32 is the dedicated 2025+ family where PAC specifies it.

Do not read “2025+ Ford B&O” as universal fitment. PAC support data specifically excludes Expedition and Explorer from the AP4-FD32 application list because Bluetooth audio is not supported in those vehicles. Confirm the exact year, model and factory B&O system against PAC's application list before ordering.
