Where this fits in the build
This is a system-control or DSP component. The correct choice depends on the signal path, channel count, routing, retained features and the rest of the amplifier and speaker plan.
Description
PAC AP4-TY11 AmpPRO 4 Toyota / Lexus Premium Amplifier Integration
On the supported older Toyota and Lexus premium systems, the factory radio can stay. The upgrade starts by getting signal before the factory amplifier turns it into the speaker layout Toyota or Lexus originally designed.
AP4-TY11 provides front, rear and non-fading/subwoofer preamp outputs for the aftermarket DSP or amplifiers while keeping the supported factory controls and vehicle audio functions in place. That gives us a much cleaner foundation than tapping a collection of already-processed speaker channels after the OEM amplifier.
Factory volume, fade, balance, bass, mid and treble stay integrated in supported applications, along with Bluetooth, navigation, safety-system audio and warning chimes where PAC supports them.
The JBL Badge and the Radio Connector Both Matter
On Toyota applications, PAC requires the supported JBL or JBL Synthesis factory-amplified system. An amplified Toyota without that identification can use a different analog architecture and should not be treated as a TY11 vehicle just because an amplifier is present.
Lexus fitment follows its own rules, including the required premium-audio configuration with the applicable center channel and subwoofer. Some overlapping 2012–2015 Toyota applications also used two different radio connector families. TY11 requires the supported 20-pin BHA8113-style connection; vehicles with the 10/6-pin BHA1761-style connection move to the TY12 family instead.
That connector check is why we verify the actual radio when the application overlaps. Removing the radio and confirming the plug is faster than building the whole system around the wrong AmpPRO family.
Build the New System From a Clean Full-Range Signal
The 5V RMS front, rear and non-fading/subwoofer outputs can feed aftermarket amplifiers directly or go into a DSP for crossover control, EQ, time alignment and routing. If the new amplifier is taking over factory speaker channels, the matching PAC APH harness depends on the exact Toyota/Lexus application and can provide the return path into the original speaker wiring.
If the downstream DSP or amplifier accepts optical, the analog-based TY11 path can use the optional APA-TOS1 for a 48 kHz / 24-bit TOSLINK output.
