SPL12D1 — 12-Inch Competition Subwoofer — DVC 1Ω — 2500W RMS
SPL12D1 is the 12-inch competition choice for a system intentionally designed around a very low final load or a multi-sub wiring plan. One D1 woofer can be wired to 0.5Ω or 2Ω, so amplifier stability has to be settled before this coil version is ordered.
SMS would choose the 12 when the build needs the SPL motor/coil platform but enclosure volume and baffle area are tighter than a comparable 15-inch system. A 0.5-ohm parallel connection should only be used with an amplifier explicitly rated for that load. This is a high-output vented-box driver, not a sealed-box daily woofer.
