Convert a Compatible Factory 6x9-Inch Location to a 6.5-Inch Aftermarket Speaker
This SMS Precision adapter pair is built for compatible Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM applications that use a supported factory 6x9-inch speaker mounting location. The adapter provides the vehicle-side mounting interface for a compatible 6.5-inch-class aftermarket speaker.
Each adapter is 3D-printed in-house from ASA for automotive use. The adapter solves the mounting-pattern problem; the exact speaker and vehicle still determine cutout, basket, depth, terminal, window-track, grille and trim clearance.
Before You Order
- Vehicle fitment: Use the on-page fitment builder to confirm the exact supported vehicle/application before checkout.
- Factory location: The supported location must use the factory 6x9-inch mounting pattern this adapter was designed around.
- Aftermarket speaker: Verify the exact 6.5-inch speaker model, not only its nominal size.
- Rear clearance: Check basket shape, magnet, terminals, wiring, door structure and window/regulator travel where applicable.
- Front clearance: Check factory grille, trim-panel and cone/surround clearance.
- Build to Size: If the exact speaker is not listed or its current dimensions differ, use the fitment builder’s custom-size path and provide the manufacturer dimensions.

Speakers, wiring harnesses, bolts, screws, nuts, washers, gasket material, foam, sound treatment and installation are not included unless specifically stated elsewhere on the order.
Fit the Actual Speaker — Not Just the Nominal Size
Two speakers sold as “6.5 inch” can use different cutouts, frame diameters, basket profiles, mounting depths and terminal locations. Verify the current manufacturer specifications for the exact speaker being installed.
If the fitment builder has the exact driver with verified dimensions, use that selection. If it does not, use Build to Size and enter the required cutout and outside-frame measurements.
Vehicle Clearance Still Has to Be Checked
Matching the speaker to the adapter does not automatically guarantee clearance inside every vehicle location. Deep pro-audio drivers, large magnets and unusual baskets can require additional spacing or vehicle-side modification.
Test-fit the speaker and adapter before final wiring and trim reassembly. Make sure the window or regulator can move normally where applicable and that the factory grille or panel can reinstall without contacting the driver.
