The Soundman OKM II Professional Originalkopf-Mikrofon is an in-ear binaural recording system designed to capture natural left/right spatial cues from the listener's perspective. The original box shown in our photos is labeled “OKM - II professionell” and “incl. A3 Adapter.”
How the OKM II Works
The miniature omnidirectional microphones are worn at the ears so the listener's head and outer-ear geometry become part of the stereo recording. The result is especially immersive through headphones and is useful for field recording, ambience, live performances, interviews and other natural-perspective stereo work.
A3 Adapter Functions
- Battery-powered microphone supply for the OKM II system.
- Selectable low-frequency/bass roll-off for reducing rumble.
- Selectable -20 dB attenuation for higher sound levels.
- 3.5 mm connections for compatible portable recording setups.
- OKM II family manufacturer frequency range: 20 Hz–20 kHz.
