Soundstream Reserve HDHU.9813RG — 7-Inch 1998–2013 Road Glide Head Unit

The HDHU.9813RG is the earlier dedicated Soundstream platform for a 1998–2013 Road Glide or Road Glide Ultra. It gives the bike a factory-location 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM readiness and camera support without turning the fairing into a generic-radio conversion.

The vehicle-specific fit is a big part of why it makes sense: the prewired harness is included, factory mounting bolts are reused, the OEM antenna connection stays in place and supported handlebar controls are retained. Its IPX5 faceplate/glass is also designed for the rain and wash exposure a touring-bike radio sees.

For the audio system, HDHU.9813RG provides 4-volt front, rear and subwoofer RCA outputs. Soundstream also publishes a 2-ohm-stable four-channel amplifier at 50 watts per channel and a built-in graphical EQ. USB supports 5 V / 1.5 A charging plus MP3/WMA/AAC/FLAC playback from media up to the published 64 GB limit. A camera RCA input with 12-volt trigger is built in.

The main comparison is WHD.RG, which Soundstream identifies as this radio’s successor. WHD.RG moves to wireless CarPlay/Android Auto and 5-volt preouts. One limitation applies to both platforms: HDHU.9813RG will NOT activate OEM Boom amplifiers, so a factory-amplified bike needs its amplifier path planned before the radio is ordered.
