Description

Soundstream Reserve V2 — 2014+ Harley Touring 8.3-Inch Head Unit — Radio Only

Choose the V2 radio-only configuration when the bike is getting Soundstream’s flagship 2014+ Touring head unit but the correct iDatalink Maestro module is already being supplied separately. This is not the stripped-down version of the V2—the receiver itself still gives you the 8.3-inch ultra-bright display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in iGO Primo navigation, SiriusXM readiness, wireless headset audio and Rally Mode. What is not bundled in this variant is the Maestro RR/RR2 interface used for the deeper vehicle-integration side of the install.

That distinction matters on a real bike. With the correct Maestro application, the V2 can display supported gauges and warnings, program/retain handlebar controls and activate compatible Boom 1, Boom 2 and HD Audio factory amplifiers. If the installation still needs that module, compare the EPS-MRR or EPS-MRR2 package instead of buying the radio-only SKU and discovering the missing integration hardware during installation.

For an aftermarket amplified system, the V2 is also the stronger system-building choice than a basic replacement radio. It has 4-volt front/rear/subwoofer RCA outputs, a 15-band EQ, independent front/rear high-pass filtering and low-pass/subsonic control for the subwoofer output. The 200-watt published built-in amplifier is 4-channel and 2-ohm stable, but on a larger Harley build we would use the RCA outputs to feed the external amplifiers rather than choosing the radio around its built-in power number.

RADIO / OEM FUNCTION FIT

Where this fits in the build

The source unit has to fit more than the dash opening. Steering-wheel controls, factory cameras, amplified audio, chimes, USB, vehicle settings and data integration can change the correct installation path.

Plan aroundConfirm dash fitment and the factory features that must remain.
Match itMatch the radio to phone, camera, audio and interface requirements.
Finish itUse the correct vehicle interface instead of sacrificing OEM functions unnecessarily.
