Soundstream Reserve WHD.RG — 7-Inch 1998–2013 Road Glide Head Unit
The WHD.RG is the dedicated 1998–2013 Road Glide radio to choose when you want the newer Soundstream platform: wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM readiness, a bright 7-inch optically bonded QLCD and 5-volt RCA outputs in a factory-location fit.
Soundstream calls WHD.RG the successor to HDHU.9813RG, and that comparison is useful. The older HDHU model uses 4-volt preouts and supports CarPlay/Android Auto; WHD.RG moves to wireless phone integration and 5-volt front/rear/subwoofer outputs. It also keeps the install Road Glide-specific by reusing OEM hardware and antenna connections, with built-in handlebar-control support and a 26-inch USB cable.
For a real motorcycle system, the 13-band EQ and crossover section let us divide the front, rear and subwoofer paths before they reach the external amplifiers. The built-in 200-watt Class A/B amplifier is 2-ohm stable, but on a louder fairing/bag/sub build the stronger reason to choose this radio is the 5-volt RCA signal. A camera input, included wind-muff microphone and USB-loaded 1024 x 600 wallpaper round out the system side.
Important compatibility limit: WHD.RG will NOT activate OEM Boom amplifiers. If the bike has a factory Boom amplified system that needs to remain active, that has to be solved in the integration plan before the radio is ordered.
