Soundstream SS.1824 — 7-Inch 2018–2024 Polaris Slingshot Head Unit
The SS.1824 is the right kind of Slingshot radio upgrade because it solves the vehicle-integration problem at the same time it adds modern features. Instead of putting a universal touchscreen in the dash and then chasing trim, camera and steering-wheel-control parts, Soundstream builds the package around the 2018–2024 Slingshot factory radio location.
Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto handle navigation, calls, messages and music on the 7-inch optically bonded QLCD. Soundstream publishes a 1000-nit backlight and IPX5 faceplate, which matter in an open-cockpit vehicle where glare and weather exposure are part of normal use. The factory rear-view camera is retained with an on-screen shortcut, and the steering-wheel-control interface is included.
The model-year split is already accounted for. Soundstream provides the appropriate trim solution for 2018–2019 and 2020–2024 Slingshots. The later 2020–2024 applications retain the OEM USB and antenna connections; 2018–2019 models use the supplied USB and radio-antenna adapters.
For a larger audio system, the SS.1824 provides 5-volt front/rear/subwoofer RCA outputs, a 16-band EQ and active 12 dB crossovers, including low-pass and subsonic control for the subwoofer path. The built-in four-channel Class A/B amplifier is 2-ohm stable, but the RCA/tuning section is the reason this radio works well ahead of external Slingshot amplifiers.
