If the factory mirror gives you a poor view because of passengers, cargo, a work-body setup or limited rear glass, replacing the radio is not the only way to add a better camera system. The GCH MIR112HD replaces the standard mirror location with an 11.2-inch HD LCD mirror display, adds front and rear recording, and gives you a dedicated rear-camera view without taking over the dash.
This is a full mirror replacement rather than a clip-on screen. GCH uses a standard wedge-style mount and an edgeless glass design so the display can still function like a conventional rear-view mirror when the LCD is off.
11.2-Inch 1080P Mirror Display
GCH publishes an 11.2-inch HD 1080P LCD with enough brightness for daytime use and automatic dimming at night. When the display is off, the glass remains usable as a normal mirror instead of leaving a dark screen hanging in the driver's line of sight.
The larger display is especially useful in vehicles where the rear-window view is compromised. Instead of trying to see around headrests, cargo or interior equipment, the driver can use the rear camera as a virtual rear-view feed while still retaining the physical mirror surface when needed.
Front and Rear DVR Recording
The MIR112HD is also a dual-camera DVR system. GCH lists front and rear 1080P cameras with audio recording and playback, picture-in-picture viewing, GPS geo-tagging and an included 32GB SD card. Storage is expandable when more recording time is needed.
That gives this product two jobs: rear visibility while driving and recorded documentation if something happens on the road. If the customer only needs a simple reverse camera, this is more system than necessary. If they want a mirror replacement, continuous rear view and DVR capability in one package, this is where the MIR112HD makes sense.
Gesture Control and Digital View Adjustment
GCH includes gesture control for switching between the mirror and camera views. The cameras also support digital zoom and image adjustment so the displayed view can be positioned more usefully after the physical camera is mounted.
Those adjustments help fine-tune the image, but camera location still matters. The rear camera needs a clear view that is not blocked by trim, bodywork or accessories, and the installation should avoid unnecessary exposure to glare or contamination.
Automatic Reverse View
The system includes a reverse trigger so the rear-camera image can come up automatically when the vehicle is shifted into reverse. That gives you a dedicated parking view in addition to the normal rear-camera display function.
GCH notes that the parking guidelines are fixed and do not steer with the vehicle. We do not represent them as predictive OEM-style guidelines.
Fitment and Installation
GCH describes the mirror as using a standard wedge-style mount, which covers many vehicles but not every factory mirror arrangement. Mount style, windshield hardware, camera routing, power access and rear-camera placement still need to be checked before installation.
This is also one of those products where the install quality matters as much as the electronics. A clean power route, properly secured camera cable and correct rear-camera angle are what make the system feel integrated instead of added on.
