Vault Power Element 11 NA-60 — 60Ah Sodium-Ion Battery
The NA-60 is the middle Element 11 battery for a system that has outgrown the compact NA-20 but does not automatically need the size and charging capability of the NA-100. Vault publishes 60Ah capacity, 240A charging, 360A discharge and a 350A maximum alternator-charging figure. Those are the numbers that make this model a different buying decision, not simply the fact that it has a larger case.
Vault publishes the NA-60 for up to 10,000 watts. We treat that as manufacturer application guidance, not a promise that one NA-60 is the only electrical upgrade a 10,000-watt amplifier system needs. Actual current demand depends on amplifier efficiency, music duty cycle, vehicle electrical load, alternator output, power/ground cable, connection quality and how long the system is expected to play at high output.
The biggest reason to move from NA-20 to NA-60 is electrical headroom. The NA-20 is 20Ah with a 220A maximum alternator-charging figure. The NA-60 triples the published capacity to 60Ah and raises Vault’s maximum alternator-charging number to 350A. That makes it much more appropriate when the vehicle has a larger high-output alternator or when the battery is expected to support multiple amplifiers and a higher sustained load.
Vault also publishes 240A charging and 360A discharge for the NA-60. The battery can provide reserve current when system demand exceeds what the alternator is supplying in that instant, but it still has to be recharged. A battery does not replace alternator output. If the system consumes more energy over time than the charging system can produce, even a large battery eventually becomes discharged.
The NA-60 operates across Vault’s published 6–16V range and is actively balanced. Active balancing helps manage the internal cells, but it does not remove the need for correct charging voltage, proper grounds, correctly sized power cable and fuse protection.
Physical size matters too. The NA-60 is 10.38 x 6.56 x 8.63 inches and weighs 20.8 pounds. That is a much larger package than NA-20, so the install needs a secure mounting location and a cable path that makes sense for the current involved.
Choose NA-60 when 60Ah of reserve, 350A maximum alternator charging and the 360A published discharge capability line up with the system. Choose NA-20 when packaging and a more moderate charging system are the priority. Move to NA-100 when the build needs 100Ah of reserve and a charging platform that can take advantage of Vault’s 600A maximum alternator-charging specification.
