Stand-Alone DSP, DSP Amplifier, or Separate Amplifiers?

The correct Mosconi configuration depends on the complete channel and power plan. A stand-alone processor keeps amplifier selection independent. A DSP amplifier combines processing and amplified channels in one chassis. Separate amplifiers may still be required when the speaker or subwoofer system needs power beyond the integrated channels.

• Confirm the factory source, factory amplifier, retained features, and usable signal.
• Count every speaker section that requires independent processing and amplification.
• Determine whether the front stage will operate actively or through passive crossovers.
• Plan subwoofer processing, amplification, level control, delay, polarity, and phase integration.
• Confirm controller requirements, digital-input needs, installation space, cooling, wiring, and future expansion.

Why DSP Matters

DSP allows SMS to establish safe crossovers, channel levels, gain structure, equalization, time alignment, staging, polarity, phase, and subwoofer integration. This control is especially important in modern vehicles where factory speakers are unevenly positioned and factory signals may already include equalization, delay, crossovers, all-pass filtering, bass limiting, or volume-dependent processing.

Factory Integration Comes First
