Beyma 6MND 6.5-Inch Neodymium High-Efficiency Midrange

If the system already has a real midbass driver and the 6.5-inch only needs to own vocals and instruments efficiently, the 6MND is the more focused Beyma choice.

The Beyma 6MND is a 6.5-inch, 4-ohm neodymium midrange rated at 100 watts RMS / 200 watts program, with 96 dB sensitivity, a published 150 Hz–8 kHz range and 2 mm Xmax.

That puts it in a very different lane from Beyma's deeper-excursion Q-series or the wider-band 6GMND. The 6MND is about efficient midrange output without asking the cone to waste movement on frequencies another driver should handle better.

96 dB sensitivity is the reason this speaker can stay loud on modest power.

Beyma publishes the 6MND at 96 dB sensitivity.

That gives the driver a useful efficiency advantage in motorcycle, Jeep, powersports and multi-driver systems where amplifier power and electrical capacity are limited.

What that solves: the vocal range can stay present over wind, road noise and a strong bass section without needing a huge amplifier channel just to keep up.

The 150 Hz lower range tells you this is a midrange—not a small midbass.

Beyma publishes the 6MND from 150 Hz to 8 kHz.

That lower limit matters because it tells us where the design focus is. The 6MND is not trying to carry deep midbass. It is built to reproduce the vocal and instrumental range efficiently.

In a proper system, a dedicated midbass, woofer or subwoofer handles the frequencies below it. That lets the 6MND stay in the part of the spectrum where its sensitivity becomes an advantage.

The result is cleaner division of labor: bass below, midrange here, highs above.

Two millimeters of Xmax reinforces the same point.

Beyma publishes 2 mm Xmax for the 6MND.

That is enough movement for a dedicated midrange, but it is not the excursion of a low/mid driver designed to make real punch.

If the system needs the 6.5-inch cone to work much lower, a PRO6Q200ND or another deeper-excursion Beyma makes more sense.

If the system already has that lower range handled and needs the 6.5 to stay efficient through vocals and instruments, the 6MND is the smarter tool.

100 watts RMS can go a long way when the driver starts efficient.

The 6MND carries a 100-watt RMS / 200-watt program rating.

That does not make it a weak speaker. It means the driver is designed around efficiency instead of requiring large thermal power to reach useful output.

A 96 dB-sensitive midrange can produce a lot of acoustic output from a clean amplifier channel when the crossover keeps the speaker inside its intended band.

Wattage is not the goal. Clean output in the right frequency range is the goal.

The neodymium motor helps keep the installation lighter.

The 6MND uses a neodymium motor.

That matters in fairings, lids, pods and fabricated doors where several speakers can turn motor weight into a structural problem.

Neo lets the system keep the magnetic structure compact and lighter while still giving the driver the motor force needed for efficient midrange output.

6MND versus 6GMND.

6MND: 96 dB sensitivity, 150 Hz–8 kHz and 2 mm Xmax. Choose it when the system wants a more focused, slightly more efficient midrange and the lower frequencies are already handled correctly.

6GMND: 95 dB sensitivity, 90 Hz–12 kHz and 2.5 mm Xmax. Choose it when the 6.5-inch driver needs a wider operating window and more flexibility on both ends of the band.

The 6MND is the more focused midrange. The 6GMND is the broader-band midrange.

6MND versus PRO65ND.

PRO65ND: 100 dB sensitivity and a more aggressive Competition-series efficiency target. Choose it when maximum vocal output per watt is the priority.

6MND: 96 dB sensitivity with broad 150 Hz–8 kHz coverage. Choose it when the output target is serious but the system does not need the PRO65ND's more extreme efficiency.

The right choice depends on how loud the midrange needs to get, how much amplifier power is available and what the rest of the system is already doing.

Where we would use the 6MND.

This makes sense in motorcycle fairings, Jeep and powersports systems, custom doors and multi-driver panels where the 6.5-inch midrange is specifically responsible for vocals and instruments above a dedicated low-frequency section.

It is especially useful in systems where amplifier efficiency matters and there is no reason to pay for deeper excursion the speaker will never use.

With DSP, we can set the high-pass around the actual installation, choose the upper handoff to the tweeter or compression driver, then control level, EQ, phase and timing so the midrange stays clear and balanced instead of simply loud.

The result: a lightweight, efficient 6.5-inch Beyma for systems that already have the low-frequency work handled and need the midrange to do one job very well.
