Beyma PRO12MV2ND 12-Inch 8-Ohm Neodymium High-Efficiency Midbass/Midrange

If the build is using multiple 12-inch low/mid drivers and you need the impedance to stay sane without giving up efficiency, the PRO12MV2ND is the version that makes the wiring plan work.

Beyma rates the PRO12MV2ND at 350 watts AES, with 99 dB sensitivity, a published 55 Hz–6 kHz range, a 2.5-inch voice coil, 6 mm Xmax and an 8-ohm nominal impedance in a neodymium motor platform.

That 8-ohm load is not a drawback. It is one of the main reasons this driver exists.

Eight ohms makes more sense when the system is using more than one driver.

One PRO12MV2ND presents an 8-ohm load to the amplifier. Two 8-ohm drivers wired in parallel present a 4-ohm final load.

What problem that solves: a dual-12 door, bag or speaker panel can add cone area without automatically forcing the amplifier into a very low impedance.

That gives the system designer more flexibility when several large drivers need to share amplifier channels.

The right impedance is not the lowest number available. The right impedance is the one that lets the amplifier, driver count and wiring plan all work together.

99 dB sensitivity means the 8-ohm version still gets loud efficiently.

Beyma publishes the PRO12MV2ND at 99 dB sensitivity.

That is important because a higher nominal impedance does not mean the speaker is inherently weak or quiet. Sensitivity tells us how efficiently the driver turns power into acoustic output.

In multi-driver systems, the combination of high sensitivity and additional cone area can create serious output without making the amplifier work into an unnecessarily difficult load.

Six millimeters of Xmax gives the 12-inch useful midbass movement.

Beyma publishes 6 mm Xmax for the PRO12MV2ND.

That gives the large cone enough movement to contribute real kick, upper bass and lower-midrange body while still remaining more efficiency-focused than Beyma's deeper-excursion low-frequency drivers.

What that means in the system: this is not just a giant vocal speaker. It can add physical weight beneath the mids, especially when two or more drivers are sharing the work.

The 55 Hz–6 kHz range gives us a broad window to build around.

Beyma publishes the PRO12MV2ND from 55 Hz to 6 kHz.

That is broad enough to use the driver in several different system architectures. It can sit above a subwoofer and carry a large low/mid band, or it can be narrowed into a dedicated midbass role beneath another midrange.

The 6 kHz upper extension does not mean a 12-inch cone should automatically be run that high. Dispersion and speaker placement still determine the useful upper handoff.

Likewise, 55 Hz is capability—not a universal high-pass setting.

350 watts AES can be plenty when the driver starts at 99 dB.

It is easy to look at the PRO12MND's 700-watt rating and assume the PRO12MV2ND is automatically half the speaker.

That is the wrong comparison.

The PRO12MV2ND is published at 99 dB sensitivity and is often most useful when multiple drivers are sharing the acoustic work. In that kind of system, total cone area and electrical loading matter just as much as the thermal rating of one individual speaker.

The question is not “which driver has the biggest watt number?” It is “which driver lets the complete system reach the target cleanly?”

The neodymium motor keeps multi-driver systems from getting unnecessarily heavy.

The PRO12MV2ND uses a neodymium motor.

That matters more as driver count rises. Two, four or more 12-inch motors can put substantial stress on doors, lids, panels and enclosure structures.

Neo lets the system add cone area without automatically adding the same amount of motor mass that a comparable ferrite layout would carry.

PRO12MV2ND versus PRO12MND.

PRO12MND: 4 ohms, 700 watts AES, 101 dB sensitivity and 8 mm Xmax. Choose it when one driver needs more power handling, more excursion and maximum efficiency from a 4-ohm platform.

PRO12MV2ND: 8 ohms, 350 watts AES, 99 dB sensitivity and 6 mm Xmax. Choose it when the system is likely to use multiple drivers and the higher individual impedance makes the final amplifier load easier to design correctly.

The MND is the more extreme individual driver. The MV2ND can be the smarter system driver.

PRO12MV2ND versus PRO12MC.

PRO12MC: 4-ohm ferrite driver, 500 watts AES, 97 dB sensitivity and 7.6 mm Xmax. Choose it when a single 4-ohm ferrite low/mid driver fits the system.

PRO12MV2ND: 8-ohm neodymium driver, 99 dB sensitivity and reduced motor mass. Choose it when higher efficiency, lighter weight and multi-driver wiring flexibility matter more.

Where we would use it.

This makes sense in dual-12 motorcycle bags, large custom doors, speaker walls, powersports enclosures and other high-output layouts where several 12-inch low/mid drivers may share amplifier channels.

It can also work as a single efficient 8-ohm driver when the amplifier or overall system specifically benefits from that load.

With DSP, we can set the lower crossover around the actual enclosure, set the upper handoff around the next driver, then align level, phase, EQ and timing so the added cone area produces usable output instead of just more noise.

The result: a 12-inch Beyma that combines 99 dB efficiency, useful midbass excursion, broad bandwidth and an 8-ohm load that can make a multi-driver high-output system much easier to wire correctly.
