Custom Lit FX products typically ship within seven calendar days after the digital render is approved. Production begins after final artwork approval. Shipping transit time is additional.
Made-to-Order Information
Each Lit FX product is created specifically for your vehicle and approved design. We’ll work with you through the digital rendering and approval process before production begins. Once design work or fabrication has started, the order can no longer be canceled or returned because the materials and labor have been committed to your custom piece.
Submitted Artwork
The customer is responsible for confirming they have permission to use any names, logos, trademarks, characters, photographs, or artwork supplied for the design. SMS Car Audio may decline submitted material that cannot be appropriately reproduced.
Handmade Product Notice
Every Lit FX product is individually designed, fabricated, assembled, and finished by hand in the USA specifically for the customer. Lit FX products are custom-made pieces—not mass-produced or manufactured in bulk.
Because each product is handmade, minor cosmetic variations may occur in engraving depth, edge finish, surface appearance, color, or LED illumination. These subtle differences are a natural part of custom fabrication and are not considered defects when they do not affect fit, function, or safe operation.
If an item arrives damaged during shipping or experiences a functional issue, contact SMS Car Audio promptly and before installing, modifying, or wiring the product. Photos or video may be requested so we can review the issue and determine the appropriate assistance.
Custom Engraved LED Tailgate Panel for Jeep Builds
The Lit FX Jeep Tailgate LED Panel turns the inside of the tailgate into a custom illuminated centerpiece for shows, meets, audio events, and photo displays. Each panel is built around your Jeep’s name, colors, club, audio system, or overall theme, then engraved and illuminated with integrated LED lighting.
The panel is made specifically to mount directly to the Jeep tailgate. It is not a loose display panel and is not magnet-mounted. The finished panel must be mechanically secured to the tailgate with screws for a permanent, stable installation.
Standard Size and Jeep Compatibility
The standard tailgate panel measures approximately 25.5 inches wide by 11.5 inches high. It is compatible with Jeep Wrangler JK/JKU and JL/JLU models. It is not compatible with the Jeep Gladiator JT.

Built Around Your Jeep
Your tailgate panel can be designed around the identity of the entire build. Common design elements include the Jeep’s name, club name, colors, audio-system theme, logos, lettering, character artwork, and other approved graphics.
Product photos show examples of previous customer projects. Your order receives its own artwork rendering based on the ideas and reference material you provide.
How the Custom Design Process Works
- Place your order. Provide your Jeep model, year, and any important tailgate, speaker, or cargo-area details.
- Send your ideas. SMS Car Audio will contact you by email or message. Send your desired wording, colors, theme, photos, and any approved graphics you want considered.
- Review the rendering. We create a digital rendering showing the proposed engraving and panel layout.
- Approve the artwork. Production begins after you approve the final design.

Installation, Mounting, and Wiring
This panel must be mechanically secured directly to the Jeep tailgate. Mounting screws are required and are not included. The installer must select suitable screws or fasteners for the specific tailgate, position the panel correctly, and verify clearance behind every mounting point before drilling.
Before drilling or installing screws, confirm clearance for factory wiring, latch components, trim, speakers, and other equipment behind the tailgate surface.
The lighting requires a properly fused 12-volt power connection and a secure ground. Mount and wire the included controller so the tailgate can open, close, and latch normally without pinching, stretching, or damaging the wiring.
