OPEN-AIR / MOTORCYCLE / POWERSPORTS FIT
Where this fits in the build
These speakers have to work where wind, road noise, mounting space and exposure change the job. Match the driver to the actual location, output target, amplifier power and environment instead of treating it like a normal door-speaker replacement.
Plan aroundConfirm mounting location, depth, cutout and how exposed the speaker will be.
Match itMatch efficiency, usable bandwidth and clean amplifier power to the output needed at speed or outdoors.
Finish itPlan crossover, mounting, wiring and electrical support with the complete open-air system.
Description
HX65.4 — 6.5-Inch Pro Coaxial Speakers with Flush Super Tweeters — Pair
HX65.4 is the Recoil choice when one 6.5-inch location needs pro-style mids and projected highs while the install also has to deal with moisture and limited grille clearance. The waterproof paper cone handles the midrange section and the flush super-tweeters keep the high-frequency hardware from sticking far out in front of the speaker.
SMS would use it in a Jeep, side-by-side, powersports pod or loud daily where a separate tweeter location would complicate the job. Recoil rates the speaker at 150W RMS with 93 dB sensitivity. Even with an 80 Hz published lower response, we would high-pass it appropriately and let a subwoofer handle the excursion-heavy low bass.
