Description
The ARC Audio RS 4.0 is a matched pair of 4-inch raw midrange speakers designed for active sound-quality front stages. Its larger radiating area and 90 Hz lower published response allow it to cover more of the vocal and lower-midrange region than a compact wideband driver while still extending to 11.5 kHz.
The hard-pressed composite papyrus cone is supported by a low-damping rubber surround and mounted in a rigid cast-aluminum basket. A high-flux neodymium motor with an integrated shorting ring is used to control inductance and reduce motor-related non-linearity through the driver’s operating range.
The RS 4.0 is rated for 75 watts RMS, 150 watts maximum, and 91 dB sensitivity. It is supplied as a raw matched pair without passive crossovers or grilles and is intended to be filtered by an external DSP or properly designed crossover network.
