
Paisley Acrylic + LED Laser Project
Laser-cut acrylic with blue-purple LED backlighting and a paisley pattern was built by SMS to match the interior theme instead of dropping a generic light panel into the build.
A factory opening that does not fit the speaker, nowhere clean to mount the amps, an enclosure that has to follow the vehicle, or acrylic that needs to look like it belonged there from day one—that is fabrication work. These are real SMS enclosures, racks, adapters, battery mounts, CNC, laser and acrylic projects.
Sometimes the problem is fitment. Sometimes it is airspace, structure, service access or presentation. The photos below show what we actually made and the vehicle problem the fabrication was solving.

A pair of dual-layer honeycomb speaker grilles was built for 8-inch speakers when the finished speaker treatment needed more than an off-the-shelf grille.

The enclosure was going to stay visible in the truck, so it became part of the finish. SMS built it for two KICKER CompQ 10-inch subwoofers, then Kandyman Mike paint matched it to the truck's OEM exterior color.

The factory opening and the speaker you want to use are not always the same shape. This SMS Precision adapter gives a 6.5-inch speaker a purpose-built mounting solution in a 6×8 / 5×7 application.


Dual CompQ 10s, LX-Series amplifiers, carbon-fiber engraved plexi, hexagon details tied to the custom door-pod grilles, and a NO-LI 30Ah battery upgrade were built into one finished trunk layout.


The enclosure was built for a pair of 12-inch KICKER CompQ subwoofers, with the port shape inspired by the Cadillac logo instead of treating the port as an afterthought.

The Tahoe enclosure was built to house eight 10-inch subwoofers with double-layer construction, then finished with a custom color-matched liner and Camaster CNC engraving.

Cicada RR3T 6×9-inch speakers were modified to fit the Harley's 8-inch lids and finished with custom acrylic covers.

The available space did not disappear just because the customer wanted four woofers. This enclosure was shaped for four MMATS Dreadnaut 6.5-inch subwoofers in a tight behind-seat installation.

The enclosure was built to house four MMATS Dreadnaut 8-inch subwoofers powered by a KICKER Warhorse. An LMI seat lift is part of the fitment because the stock seat height does not provide the room this package needs.


This was never one fabricated part. The amp racks and battery boxes were built with the stunt wall and bandpass enclosure as one larger Jeep project.

This in-house enclosure for three ZV6 15-inch subwoofers uses cross-sectional bracing, double-layer construction and a triple baffle, then leaves the construction visible with a stained finish.

The pair of KICKER L7S 15-inch subwoofers came out of a prefab enclosure and went into a custom SMS enclosure built around the drivers and vehicle.

A sealed enclosure can still be finished like a custom part. This dual-10 SQL-style build was sprayed with liner and finished with CNC engraving.

Four 10-inch subwoofers were packaged into this Dodge Charger with a custom enclosure built and tuned at SMS Car Audio.

Limitless Lithium NO-LI 12Ah batteries were installed in custom battery mounts rather than left as loose electrical hardware in the build.

The client needed as much airspace as possible in a tight area, so the enclosure follows multiple angles instead of wasting the shape of the available space.

The fourth-order enclosure was designed and built in-house, then finished with laser-engraved 3/4-inch plexiglass windows so the construction stayed part of the presentation.
