Description
The ARC Audio X2 1200.6 is a six-channel Class-D amplifier for high-output passive, hybrid and fully active systems. All six channels deliver 150 watts each into either 4-ohm or 2-ohm loads, providing consistent output across common speaker impedances.
Every channel pair is bridgeable. Bridging channels 5 and 6 provides more than 600 watts of available subwoofer power, while the remaining channels can operate a front stage, rear fill or active midrange and tweeter sections.
Two channel pairs include adjustable band-pass crossovers, and the onboard filters can be bypassed for external DSP control. Balanced differential inputs support factory and aftermarket sources. The Level 2 cosmetic package includes a brushed aluminum top panel, illuminated rotatable badge and front diagnostic indicators.

How SMS Uses the X2 1200.6
The X2 1200.6 is a high-power six-channel tool for systems that need substantial full-range power with flexible routing. It is especially useful with a stand-alone DSP in active front stages, hybrid systems, or layouts where six equal-power channels simplify amplifier planning.
Best System Fits
- Active 3-way front stages using six independently processed amplifier channels.
- Active 2-way front stages with additional channels used for rear fill or another speaker section.
- Hybrid systems where a channel pair is bridged for a higher-power load.
- Systems using X2, AS, or RS speakers when 150 watts per channel fits the driver and tuning plan.
DSP and Amplifier Architecture
The X2 1200.6 does not contain the system DSP. SMS typically pairs it with a stand-alone ARC processor or another upstream DSP when the system requires active crossover, delay, EQ, summing, phase control, and complex routing. When a single-chassis DSP amplifier is the better packaging solution, X2 800.8 DSP, Blackbird, or Falcon may make more sense.
Installation and Electrical Planning
Six high-output channels require proper power distribution, fusing, grounding, cooling, speaker-load verification, and gain structure. SMS selects the X2 1200.6 only after the channel map, source integration, speaker power requirements, and electrical support are established.
