ARC Audio DSP Processors and DSP Amplifiers
ARC Audio DSP products are for systems that need control, not just louder sound. SMS Car Audio uses DSP processors and DSP amplifiers when a vehicle needs proper crossovers, level matching, EQ, time alignment, staging, subwoofer blending, and measured tuning.
Why DSP Matters
A vehicle is not a perfect listening room. Speaker locations are uneven, factory signals are processed, doors resonate, subwoofers load differently in every cabin, and left/right distances are not equal. DSP gives the installer control over the system so it can be tuned to the vehicle.
SMS uses RTA microphones, measurement tools, and tuning time to set the system up correctly. The goal is clarity, staging, balance, impact, and control.
Processor or DSP Amplifier
A standalone DSP processor is useful when the build uses separate amplifiers or needs more routing flexibility. A DSP amplifier can be a clean solution when the system needs amplifier power and tuning control in one package. The right choice depends on the vehicle, channel count, factory signal, space, and sound goal.
Factory radio systems often need integration first. Once the signal is usable, the DSP handles the final tuning work.
What DSP Lets SMS Control

- Output levels so every channel plays at the correct balance
- Equalization to correct vehicle and speaker response problems

OEM Integration Comes First
DSP cannot fix every problem before the source signal is usable. Many factory systems need the right interface, integration processor, amplifier bypass, or signal correction before tuning begins. SMS checks the factory radio, factory amplifier, retained features, and signal path before choosing the DSP layout.
