Description

The ARC Audio X2 600.4 is a high-performance four-channel Class-D amplifier designed for systems that need clean power, compact dimensions, and flexible configuration options. Its impedance-switching output stage delivers the same 150 watts per channel into either 4-ohm or 2-ohm loads, allowing the amplifier to maintain consistent rated output across a wide range of speaker systems.

The four channels can power coaxial speakers or passive component systems, operate in an externally crossed bi-amplified system, or feed a DSP-controlled active system. The channel pairs can also be bridged, allowing the X2 600.4 to operate as a three-channel amplifier with two speakers and a subwoofer or as a high-output two-channel amplifier for specialty drivers and midbass speakers. An adjustable band-pass crossover section provides additional control for more advanced system layouts.

Balanced differential inputs support aftermarket low-level sources and factory-audio integration, including speaker-level signals through the supplied input pigtails. The Level 2 cosmetic package uses a brushed silver hairline aluminum top panel, an illuminated rotatable acrylic badge, and front diagnostic indicators for a clean installation and easier troubleshooting.

How SMS Uses the X2 600.4

The X2 600.4 is a flexible speaker amplifier, not a product tied only to X2 speakers. SMS uses it where four channels of 150-watt power fit the speaker system—passive components, coaxials, an active two-way front stage with external DSP, bridged midbass applications, or other layouts where its channel configuration matches the design.

Best System Fits

  • Four-channel front/rear speaker systems.
  • Externally processed active two-way systems using four amplifier channels.
  • Bridged applications where two higher-power channels are needed.
  • Systems using a stand-alone ARC processor or another DSP upstream.

Common Pairings

The X2 600.4 can be paired with X2, AS, or RS speakers when the power and crossover plan are appropriate. For larger active systems, SMS may use multiple amplifiers, the X2 1200.6, or an integrated DSP amplifier such as X2 800.8 DSP, Blackbird, or Falcon.

Installation and Electrical Planning

SMS verifies final speaker impedance, bridge configuration, cable size, fuse protection, ground path, amplifier mounting, source signal, DSP requirements, and gain structure before choosing this amplifier. The amplifier is selected around the system—not the speaker-series badge.
